Hi Floyd,
I was reviewing your Kaigler Family website and comparing it
to the extensive Kaigler research that I had conducted in the 1990s.
You've put a lot of work into this website and it great service to other
Kaigler descendants. After analyzing the John Kaiglers that you have
listed in the 2nd and 3rd generation sections of your site, I believe
that these two John Kaiglers are actually the same person (the son of
Andrew Kaigler, Sr.) and you've possibly added a generation. I
understand the difficulty involved during this timeframe with confused
lines due to muddled records, but I believe that John Kaigler's first
wife, Caroline Leitner, died and he then married Margaret and started a
second family. I've attached a Word file that provides the Kaigler
information from my family history manuscript that offers a fully
documented look at some of my Kaigler (as well as Gibson and Seawright)
ancestors that lived in the area of Sandy Run and Beaver Creek in old
Lexington District. It also provides records from the John Kaigler
family after he died in 1814 and the family moved to Edgefield District
where additional tragedies took place that were documented in court
records. My manuscript also provides a copy of the circa 1855 ambrotype
photo depicting Nancy Ann (Kaigler) Gibson holding a dagurretype photo
of her late husband. Hopefully this research can fill some voids in the
early Kaigler family groups and generate some discussion.
